Ulster Amateur Cup Heads to National Balmoral

The Ulster Amateur Cup has been exceptionally well supported this year, with some leaders gaining momentum as they head towards the final legs!  Taryn McClurkin and Innocense have had a phenomenal season this year reflected in their lead of the A leaderboard with a 9 point lead ahead of Joe Harris and Coppindell Concorde who have claimed maximum points in three out of the past 4 Ulster Region Cup Classes at Connell Hill, Banbridge and Portmore!  In third place at this stage is Denis O’Brien and Kilcurry Libero’s Flight, this combination won the league overall in 2018 and have enjoyed consistent placings throughout this season so far.

The well known combination of Ian Moore and Triple C are leading the AA leaderboard by 11 points after Mid-Antrim.  They have also enjoyed three wins in these cup classes so far.  Fiona Thompson, who was last year’s winner is currently in second and fifth place on the AA leaderboard, with Curolea Roni and O’Harabrook.  With Catherine McLaughlin and Ballyengland Festival in third.

The top 3 in each category each qualified for the RUAS Balmoral Show earlier this year will be hoping for another positive round next week at the National Balmoral Championships for the penultimate leg of the league, while the final will take place at the National Amateur Championships in Cavan on 20th & 21st July.  Competitors please note that entries for this show also close on Thursday 11th July.

The scene is set for Monday 15th July in the Maddybenny sponsored UAC class.  Entries will remain open until Thursday 11th July for both amateur classes which will be held that afternoon.  Wishing all competitors the very best of luck in the last two legs of this exciting league!!
