Horse Sport Ireland have confirmed the selection of 5 Ulster Region athletes from the 17 riders selected to compete at the Pony International at Fontainebleau, France from 18th – 21 April 2019.

On the 5 strong Irish Squad forming part of the CSIOP Nations Cup team are John McEntee riding Terry Johnson’s My Gypsy Rose and TRI Equestrian sponsored rider Niamh McEvoy with Claire Crawford's Ardfry Skye.

Both riders will also compete additional ponies with John on Sandra Duffy’s 9yo gelding Little Smithe and Niamh on Victoria Gulliksen’s 8yo mare Milchem Shes a Keeper.

In the CSIP section Ellen Thompson competes with her father Andrew’s Trendy Blue and Kelli Rose Flanagan with her mother's Miss Bojangles.

In the 6-year-old CSIYP section Sophie Doherty represents Ireland on her mother Sarah's bay mare Attrory Obos Girl.

Aldyth Roulston from the Ulster Region Pony Committee commented ‘We are delighted to have such a strong representation from our Ulster Region athletes travelling to Fontainebleau. With almost 1/3 of those selected following strong performances in the Plusvital National Spring tour coming from our region it is a testament to the depth and strength of our young riders and their ability to perform so successfully on the National stage. We wish them every success at the French International.’
