**Please note team selection will be based purely on rider/pony results at each show.**

 

  • All Athletes and Parents/Guardians attending Home Pony Competitions must adhere to the SJI Code of Conduct at all times. It will be assumed that by entering any of these competitions Athletes and Parents/Guardians are agreable with this Code of Conduct

  • BSJA REGISTRATIONS: Please Note: For 2018 BSJA will require copies of passports for alll ponies and horses requesting temporary registration. For the 2018 season, those intending to travel to the UK Shows must complete their temporary registration directly with BSJA NOT  SJI Office. The S.J.I. National Pony Committee will fund each athlete with an Irish Pony Team gilet  -.Competitors who traveled to a previous home pony competition are reminded to bring the gilets they have already received to the next event as stock is limited and will only be given to new competitors. 

Numnahs and rugs will be provided to competitors on a loan basis for 2018. Competitors will be required to sign for these at the begining of the show and return them before returning home. There wil be a fine of €100 issued should they not be returned on this basis.

Can all athletes please note that Irish numnahs may not be worn when competing at home in National competitions.

***Please note that all owners, athletes and animals wishing to compete at the HPI Shows in Wales, Scotland or England must take out temporary membership with the BSJA

Criteria

  • Athlete / Pony combination must jump in classes as selected by team manager. Points will be awarded as follows :1st 10, 2nd 8, 3rd 6, 4th 4, 5th 3, 6th 2. The top four placings from the points score will determine the team. In the event of equality of faults the athlete / pony placing in the Premier Pony League will denote the higher placing.
  • It is strongly recommended that athlete / pony combinations jump in all the relevent qualification classes to strengthen their chance of making the teams.

 

Please note that all SJI members intending to enter for a show outside of Ireland must first contact the SJI office prior to entering. (Also please contact the office regarding BSJA membership prior to entry)
